Poor Police?

This week, I opened my newest property tax bill and I got mad. My new property tax assessment increased almost 40%, and I want to know why my property, which I have owned for 40 years, suddenly became so valuable? Where does all the money go?

On July 4th night there was a mob incident dubbed a “street take over” around the corner from my home that culminated in 11 gunshot victims. The next day the media questioned police officials about the incident. Their immediate response was the police are working without a contract (which means they want more money to do their jobs)

To me, the insinua tion was if you pay them more money things like that would not have happened. The common misconception is police are underpaid and over worked. So, I decided to research the salaries of the Buffalo Police Department and came across a breakdown of the top 20 salaries of the BFD. (Please keep in mind the average income of a family that lives in Buffalo NY is approx. $50,000 per year.)
