Woof! Meow! Chirp!
All God’s Creatures Welcome at Central Park United Methodist Church’s Blessing of the Animals Service
Buffalo, NY – Central Park United Methodist Church will offer a Blessing of the Animals Service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 11th, 2025. This service is a Christian tradition in honor of Francis of Assisi, the patron of animals.
All dogs, cats, birds, rodents, and any other domesticated pet can receive an individual blessing from Pastor Raquel Alston. The service will be held in the front of the church, weather permitting. Otherwise, it will be held in the Dayer Room, located on the church’s first floor. The church asks that all animals be either in carriers or leashed to ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees.
There will be a time in the service to remember animal friends who have died in the past year. People are invited to bring pictures of those pets as well.
Both animals and humans are invited to stay for refreshments after the service.
