Agnes Bains Way

Masten Avenue was designated as Agnes Bain way on June 27th . The late Agnes Baines, Director of the African American Cultural Center, 350 Masten Ave. A short program at Preforming Art High School, highlighted the accomplishments of Ms. Baines, was held with City Officials, family members, board members, and well-wishers, special guest was former Buffalonian, Ed Lawrence former Director of the African American Cultural Center and his daughter Jill. Both have made New York City their home and have made strides both on television and radio. Odessa Hunter was the program chair. Shown in the photo, left-to-right are Rev. Eugene Copeland, Rev. Stewart, Dr. Jamie Smith, Odessa Hunter, Charley Fisher, Comptroller Barbara Miller Williams, Thembi Duncan and Ed Lawrence.
