Educational Fundraiser

Cassandra spent her last 8+ years faithfully volunteering at Cold Spring Community Foundation, Plate of Love soup kitchen under the leadership of Penny Beckham. She has worked through the wearing of boots for her foot issues to braces on each wrist for carpal tunnel issues. The other workers and clients would call her the bionic woman. In the mist of her volunteering, Cassandra was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Through her treatments and health issues, Cassandra continued to volunteer.

When the doctors took Cassandra out from volunteering due to the treatments making her ill, Cassandra cried so hard because her concern was about feeding the com munity and not what she was going through. No matter what her circumstances were in her personal life, Cassandra was dedicated and determined to be there to serve her community. In 2022 she decided to return to school to finish her bachelor’s degree in business administration. She graduated in 2024 and decided to contin ue her education to obtain her master’s degree in business management. Cassandra continued to volunteer through school and still does currently.

Cassandra has complet ed her master’s degree and is due to graduate in May 2025. She has been surprised with an outstanding bill that must be paid in order to receive her degree. Cassandra has a go fund me account set up to assist with this bill and we are humbly asking for the help of the community. The link to the gofundme account is pro vided at the end of this article. If you have any questions or concerns you may reach out to Penny Beckham, Director of Cold Spring Community Foundation, Plate of Love Ministries by email at info@plateoflove.org or you may call 716-256-9141.
