Alzheimer’s Association to host Caregiver Brunch on June 7 at Amherst office

The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host a brunch on Saturday, June 7, for people who are caregivers to those living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

The Caregiver Brunch will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chapter office, located at 6400 Sheridan Drive, Suite 320, in Amherst.

“Caregivers work so hard and can be under enormous stress when caring for their loved ones,” says Andrea Koch, director of community engagement at the WNY Chapter. “We invite them to take a break and enjoy a relaxing Saturday morning with us, while enjoying refreshments and good company.”

Julie Whitbeck-Lewinski of Care Patrol Buffalo Niagara will provide education about self-care for caregivers during the brunch and the Prevention Council of Erie County will con duct a mindfulness workshop. Participants can also learn more about the many free resources offered by the Alzheimer’s Association, including support groups, education classes, virtual programs and care consultations.
