ECMC participates in Trauma Survivors Network Social Media Campaign during National Trauma Survivors Day
BUFFALO, NEW YORK— Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) Corporation, the region’s Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, today participated in the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) social media campaign held on National Trauma Survivors Day, May 21, 2025.
The Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) is a community of patients and families looking to connect with one another and rebuild their lives after a serious injury. Each year on National Trauma Survivors Day, the TSN launches their social media campaign encouraging trauma survivors, families of survivors, emergency and trauma center clinicians and caregivers across the country to join in the initiative. Campaign participants post photographs and messages of hope and inspiration to trauma survivors and their families to provide support enabling survivors of traumatic injuries and their caregivers to draw inspiration on their road to recovery from trauma.
Beth A. Moses RN, BSN, TCRN, AEMT, ECMC Trauma Injury Prevention and Education Coordinator, said, “At ECMC, we coordinate numerous social media posts including photos with supportive messages on signs held by staff and trauma patients. We know from participation in this campaign each year and from the interactions that we have with our trauma patients and their families, that this campaign does in fact help to encourage their growth and success.”
Western New York’s only Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, ECMC is verified by the American College of Surgeons and is designated a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center by the NYS Department of Health. As such, ECMC’s experienced and nationally accredited trauma and emergency services caregivers annually treat thousands of patients from all eight counties of Western New York and Southern Ontario each year. ECMC serves as a leader in establishing national trauma care standards, participating in national and regional quality improvement programs for trauma, as well as injury prevention and trauma education programs across Western New York. As one of the first trauma centers in the country, ECMC has long been a leader in the treatment of victims with traumatic injuries.
