“Jingle Bell Rock the Ice” to Kick Off Winter Break Festivities this Weekend at the Ice at Canalside

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Don your warmest holiday sweaters and lace up your skates at the Ice at Canalside this Saturday as Buffalo Waterfront hosts “Jingle Bell Rock the Ice,” presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. The one-of-a-kind holiday celebration, featuring festive activities for all ages, will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with fireworks lighting up the winter sky at 8 p.m.

Guests can meet Santa and Pip the Penguin, take a ride on the Ice Express Train and bumper cars, plus enjoy stocking suffer giveaways and holiday photo-ops. Seasonal beverages, including Grinch hot chocolates, will be available at the Nibble & Nosh Snack Shack. The Highmark Giveaway Tree will be decked out with pennants, candy canes, koozies and other small trinkets guests can choose from. 

Everyone wearing festive attire will receive $1 off admission.

“We look forward to our annual “Jingle Bell Rock the Ice” event every year to kick off winter break at the Ice at Canalside,” said Lauren Ford, general manager, Buffalo Waterfront. “We invite Western New Yorkers and out-of-town visitors to celebrate the holiday season at the rink and enjoy the best of Buffalo winters at the waterfront.”

 The Ice at Canalside will be open for special hours during the winter break, including Christmas Day.
