WNY Book Arts Center Announce Zinefest 2025

Zinefest 2025 will be held on all three floors of 468 Washington Street

Buffalo, N.Y. – July 21, 2025 – WNY Book Arts Center (Book Arts) is excited to announce ZineFest 2025. Sponsored by Gutter Pop Comics, ZineFest will be held on all 3 floors of 468 Washington Street on Saturday, August 16th from 11pm-4pm. This event is free and open to the public, for all ages.

At ZineFest, local zine-makers will gather to distribute, trade, & sell their creations. The organization invites attendees to get lost in a photocopied sea of zines, to conspire with fellow artists, and to peruse our pop-up zine library featuring local classics. Adding some hands-on artmaking to the day, Book Arts will also host letterpress and screen printing demonstrations in our lower-level studio - print your own zine, or screen print a commemorative t-shirt!

Zines defy definition but here are some words you might see associated with them: handmade, self-published, DIY, underground, cheap, hyperlocal, radical, queer, feminist, photocopied, misspelled. Inside a zine you might find poems, comics, manifestos, recipes, collages, gardening advice, lyrics, & handy tips for your neighborhood activist.

In addition to the ZineFest event on August 16th, we will also be hosting a number of zine-making workshops and zine-related events, open to the public, the week of the event. Pop in for our Zine Factory week, August 9-15 during Book Arts open hours, sponsored by BXI Consultants! Please visit the event site for details.

We are grateful for our sponsors: Gutter Pop Comics, Bags Unlimited, Just Buffalo Literary Center, BXI Consultants, Lindenmeyr Munroe, The Lavender Room, Casa di Pizza, Evening House Books.
