“A SOLEMN TIME OF REMEMBRANCE”
The Merriweather Branch Library, at 1324 Jefferson avenue, was the setting for the May 14th “A Solemn Time of Remembrance,” a memorial for the victims of the Tops massacre. During the program several local members of clergy offered prayers and remarks. A song of comfort was provided by Henri Muhammad, as seen in second photo. Jericho Road, Project Lab, and Highmark Insurance were sponsors. Jesse Clipper of Post #4340 served as the honor guard. Community outreach stations were set up around the grounds of the Merriweather Library. Charley Fisher the III and Avery Bates served as coordinators.
