A SPECIAL HONOR FROM MAYOR SEAN RYAN

Dr. Eva M. Doyle received the first annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Citizen of the year award, from the newly elected Mayor of Buffalo, Sean Ryan, which is the first annual award from his new administration. The award was presented at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the office of Mayor Ryan at Buffalo City Hall. The event was free and open to the public.

Dr. Doyle’s work in journalism and education spanned over 30 years. Dr. Doyle received her master’s degree in Elementary Education and an honorary doctorate in Humane Letters, both from Buffalo State University. Dr. Doyle has published numerous books, and her most recent book is Eye on History, The Gold Collection. Dr. Doyle’s works have earned her over 100 honors.
