Black Achievers Scholorship and Awards Banquet

Black Achievers, Inc., along with Dion’s Dreamers, The official foundation of NFL Buffalo Bill’s star Dion Dawkins. Dion Dreamers Inc., recently awarded $10,000.00 in scholarships to ten WNY graduates during a Black Achiever Scholarship ceremony, located in the Buffalo Black Achievers Museum. Talisa King is the Chairperson of the Black Achievers Scholar ship Committee along with Dion Dawkins and Herbert Bellamy present ed the scholarships to the following graduates: Udgoon Abdukadir, Beth any Callahan, Karrington Mann, Iyanna Matthews, Makayla Matthews, Tyliq Moss, Dominic Plummer, Gabriella Russ, Snow White, Kaitlyn Willis.

The Black Achievers scholarship fund is one of the projects financed by Black Achievers, Inc. with proceeds from the annual Black Achievers Awards Banquet. On July 7, 2026, Uniland Development Company, Ron Brown Brother hood and Roswell Park, co-sponsored a previous scholarship ceremony and awarded $10,000.00 in scholarships to the graduates listed above. In addition, there was a surprise donor, Santo & Erika Lamar who awarded $5,000.00 more in scholarship money. A total of $25,000.00 has been awarded in scholar ships in July 2026.

Over the past 10 years, Black Achievers Inc. has been awarded over $100,000.00 in WNY scholarships.

Black Achievers CEO Herbert L. Bellamy, Jr. announced the organization will be hosting its 54th Annual Awards Banquet. The primary purpose for the awards event is to honor out standing individuals and highlights the variety and quality of achievements of African Americans in Western New York. Images are powerful in our society, and this event spotlights inspir ing stories of personal, professional and com munity achievements. Over the past 54 years, Black Achievers, Inc. has honored more than 3,000 outstanding individuals.

This year the Black Achievers Awards Banquet will be held on Fri day, October 2, 2026, at the Buffalo Convention Center, 153 Franklin St. Buffalo, NY 14202. This gala event features a red carpet reception which begins at 5:30 p.m., fol lowed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.
