Cheektowaga Jazz & Cultural Festival Draws Huge Crowd at Town Park
Senator Baskin and Erie County Majority Leader Tim Meyers Sponsored the Eclectic Festival



CHEEKTOWAGA, NY – On a sun-soaked Satur day afternoon, Senator April N. M. Baskin, along with Erie County Majority Leader Tim Meyers, welcomed more than 300 community members to Cheektowaga Town Park for the inaugural Jazz and Community Festival. The event was open to all and free of charge.
Residents from across District 63, encompassing parts of Buffalo, Cheektowaga, and Lackawanna, lined their chairs in the amphitheater to enjoy the sounds of some of the region’s most beloved and eclectic groups, representing diverse cultures:
The Buffalo Touch, America’s Party Polka Band, 3-time Grammy nominees
Emerald Isle, specializing in cultural Irish heritage music, Celtic tunes
Community Music School of Buffalo
Will Holton, award-winning jazz saxophonist
Colored Musicians Club: Dale Tolliver’s Jazz Quartet, playing full range of jazz
State Senator April N.M. Baskin said, “Music has shaped so much of American culture. To be able to share a variety of genres – Irish, Polish, Jazz, Soul – with residents of all ages, is a joy that we look forward to bringing to our constituents ever year. The melding of these musical influences brings not only a sense of fun, but also a feeling of appreciation for how we positively impact each other through music.”
