Empowering Buffalo Fathers: Free Parenting Program Begins October 7th
Buffalo, NY, September 15th — Buffalo Prenatal-Perinatal Network’s Buffalo Fatherhood Initiative is proud to announce the Fall launch of the Nurturing Fathers Class, a free evidence-based parenting program designed specifically for fathers and father figures in the Buffalo community. The program begins Tuesday, October 7, 2025, and will be held at the King Urban Life Center, 938 Genesee St., Buffalo, NY, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Food will also be provided.
The course will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 6.5 weeks, offering fathers the opportunity to develop skills that promote stronger families and healthier communities. Food will be served at the meetings, and there are possible incentives for participation.
The Nurturing Fathers Program is a nationally recognized, culturally competent curriculum that has been proven to positively impact the parenting attitudes and behaviors of men. Participants will benefit by gaining:
Better communication skills
Strategies for discipline without violence or fear
Improved co-parenting techniques
Increased ability to meet both personal and family needs
One recent participant, Nathan D’Wayne Palmer, shared the personal impact of the program:
“Over the course of those 6.5 weeks, I experienced tremendous growth—not only in my ability to communicate constructively but also in my willingness to self-reflect and recognize my own experiences and triggers. To my surprise, I also gained something even deeper: a brotherhood… a brotherhood of men who have found strength through vulnerability and accountability.”
