Former Buffalo Police Lieutenant Appointed To Read To Succeed Board

Read to Succeed (RTS) has announced the appointment of Stacy Lewis Beauford to serve on its board of directors.

Beauford most recent ly served as a Police Lieutenant for the City of Buffalo Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division. She was responsible for leading investigations and background checks for officer hires and supported policy com pliance, accountabil ity, and risk mitigation efforts. She also served as a police officer for the department from 1997 to 2004 and from 2008 to 2016.

“We are very pleased to welcome Stacy to our board of directors, as her extensive background in areas of compliance and accountability with the City of Buffalo’s Police Department will pro vide guidance to our staff and leadership. I am also looking forward to benefiting from her leadership and support as we work to expand RTS literacy coaching and tutoring services throughout WNY,” said Read to Succeed Executive Director Anne Ryan.

Beauford earned a Bachelor of Arts from Buffalo State University and a Master of Busi ness Administration from Canisius College. In addition to being appointed to Read to Succeed’ s board of directors, Stacy is a member of the Buffalo State University Alumni Association, a trustee for the Burchfield Penny Art Center, and a founding member of the African American Health Care Disparities Task Force.
