Girl Scouts of Western New York to Honor 2026 Women of Distinction

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Girl Scouts of Western New York (GSWNY) will celebrate the region’s most inspiring leaders at the 2026 Women of Distinction event, recognizing individuals who exemplify courage, confidence, and character while making a lasting impact across Western New York.

The annual Women of Distinction event brings together com munity leaders, supporters, and advocates to honor women whose professional achievements and community service align with the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

The 2026 Women of Distinction honorees include:

  • Aimiamia Amadasu-McCray, MBA, Senior Vice President,

  • Citi Danielle Bickel, Owner, Strokes Painting & Contracting

  • Kate Capel, DVM, Veterinarian, Perry Veterinary Clinic PLLC

  • Kimberley LaVare, PMP, Man aging Director, Clementine Gold Group

Rising Woman of Distinction:

  • Aditi S. Myneni, Cadette Girl Scout, Troop 34165

This year’s honorees represent a diverse range of industries and experiences, from business and STEM to community leadership and youth advocacy. Each honoree has demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering others and creating meaningful change in their communities.

“Women of Distinction celebrates leaders who not only excel in their fields, but also lift others up along the way,” said GSWNY CEO, Cara Biddlecom, “These honorees serve as powerful role models for the next generation, showing Girl Scouts what is possible when you lead with purpose and passion.”

The 2026 Women of Distinction event will take place Thursday, April 16 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Salvatore’s, bringing together sup porters from across the region to celebrate the honorees and invest in the future of Girl Scouting.

Proceeds from the event sup port access to Girl Scouts of Western New York programming, including leadership development, outdoor experiences, STEM education, and community service opportunities that reach thousands across the region each year.
