Lilian E. Hundley Annual Scholarship Award
Presented by The Bennett-Wells American Legion Auxiliary #1780
Mrs. Hundley was the mother of ten children. As a young widow, she was able to successfully raise her children alone. While her children were in school, she volun teered to tutor reading to students in the Diocesan Education Center. Mrs. Hundley helped raise funds to pay for YMCA memberships for neighborhood children and was a member of the YMCA Board.
Mrs. Hundley was always known for being a hard worker and a pillar in the community. She founded the Landon-Fill more Block Association to help with the maintenance and beautification of the neighborhood.
A long-time member of the Fire Prevention Board, which was created to aid where needed.
Also, she was a founding member of the Bennett-Wells American Legion Auxiliary #1780, whose main purpose is to provide assistance to all Veterans in need of sup port, in Erie County.
And she served as a Board Member of the Masten Block Club Coalition.
The scholarship will be awarded $500 to deserving seniors who have been accepted into college. Parents who have deserving students should have their applications submitted no later than June 13, 2026, to the address listed on the application on page 5.
