Mayor Ryan Appoints Michael Pacifico As Buffalo City Court Judge

BUFFALO, NY — Mayor Sean M. Ryan today announced the appointment of Michael Pacifico as a Buffalo City Court Judge. Pacifico was sworn in by Buffalo City Court Chief Judge JaHarr Pridgen in a small ceremony attended by family, friends, and col leagues this afternoon at City Hall. Judge Pacifico replaces Judge Shannon Heneghan following her departure from City Court to become a New York State Supreme Court Justice.

Pacifico brings 17 years of legal expe rience to the bench. His career began as a public defender in Buffalo City Court, where he represented more than 4,000 clients in five years. He later served as an Erie County Attorney and as a confidential law clerk to New York State Supreme Court Supervising Judge John B. Licata, gaining extensive experience in civil litigation and city judicial operations.

“Michael Pacifico has spent nearly two decades serving those in need, and that experience will guide him on the bench,” Mayor Ryan said. “His experi ence, compassion, and deep under standing of Buffalo City Court reflect the values essential to serving as a City Court Judge. I am confident that Judge Pacifico’s commitment to these values will ensure that every person who comes before City Court is treated fairly and equitably.”
