Senator Zellner Recognizes Assembly Majority Leader Peoples-Stokes’ Decades Of Service

New York State Sena tor Jeremy J. Zellner today released the following statement after Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples Stokes’ announcement that she will retire at the end of her term.

“Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples Stokes has been one of the most influential leaders in Buffalo and New York State for more than three decades,” said Senator Zellner.

“As the first woman and first African Ameri can to serve as Majority Leader, she made history and used that role to get real results; strengthening economic mobility, advancing infrastructure and driving policies centered on equity and community investment.

Throughout her career, she remained focused on the people she represented, ensuring Buffalo had a strong and consistent voice in Albany.

I commend her decades of service and the role she played in shaping the direction of New York State. As she steps away to focus on her health and spend more time with her family, her impact will continue to be felt across our state.”
