Spotlight: Cynthia Canty

In 1985, Cynthia Canty started working, doing security for RJD and Har vin security. She did this for over 40 years. She joined the Buffalo Police reserve 17 years ago and was promoted to lieutenant ant in 2014. Because of her dedication and loyalty, she then was made Captain in 2018. She became Chief in 2019 and was appointed by Byron Lockwood, which made the history of being the first black female to run the Buffalo Police Reserve Unit.

Cynthia has always been in the church, and became a pastor in 2016, until now at Macedonia F.B.H church located at 132 Scoville Ave in Buffa lo, NY. Not only was she dedicated to the reserve and her church, but she was a foster parent for 37 years as well, which led to the adoption of two children during these years.

One of her favorite fes tivals is Juneteenth, which she has been a part of for the last 46 years. Mr. Brown always knew he could count on Cynthia when it came to security. She took all her jobs very seriously to this day she is still a dedicated pastor, foster parent & and chief.
