Reverend Carl Colston’s ascension to Bishop is a story of faith, perseverance, service, and leadership. A native son of Buffalo, New York, Reverend Colston’s life reflects the values of hard work, commitment, and devotion to God that have guided him from his youth to his current role as Senior Pastor of True Love Disciples of Christ Church in Houston, Texas.

Born into the respected Colston family, Reverend Colston was raised with an appreciation for family, community, and spiritual values. As a student at Riverside High School in Buffalo, he developed the character and determination that would later define his life’s work. Those who knew him during his formative years recognized a young man with strong convictions, leadership abilities, and a desire to serve others.

Following his education, Reverend Colston answered another call to service by joining the United States Marine Corps. The discipline, courage, and sense of duty instilled by military service helped shape his approach to leadership and responsibility. Like many veterans, he carried the lessons of honor, sacrifice, and commitment into every aspect of his life. These experiences would later become invaluable as he assumed greater responsibilities within both the church and the community.
