The George Urban Mansion was the 23rd Decorators’ Show House and was located at 280 Pine Ridge Road, Buffalo, NY. The mansion holds a deep-rooted history within the community. Constructed in 1869, this impressive 7,200-square-foot home rests on a 1.4-acre property that was originally part of the Urban-Winspear Estate, a parcel of land dedicated to farming, vineyards, and the breeding of racehorses. Once the residence of George Urban, Jr., a distinguished flour mill owner who is credited with bringing electricity to Buffalo, the mansion is celebrated as the launching site of Grover Cleveland’s 1884 Presidential Campaign.

Since 1981, the Junior League of Buffalo has proudly collaborated with The Buffalo News in presenting its largest fundraiser, the Decorators’ Show House.  The biennial event has raised more than $4.8 million to date. A few of the previous Show House proceeds recipients include:  The Tool Library, Providence Farm Collective, A Playground for All at Chestnut Ridge Park, Gerard Place, the Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin D. Martin House, Jericho Road Ministries, Massachusetts Avenue Project, Torn Space Theatre, and many others.
