Two City Honors Seniors Awarded College Scholarships from BankOnBuffalo

Karrington Mann and Omar Jallow, both members of the City Honors Class of 2026 were recently each awarded a $1,000 scholarship from BankOnBuffalo. Karrington and Omar were among 5 recipients of scholarships awarded to WNY high school seniors who will be pursuing higher education in a business-related field of study.

Students applying for the bank’s scholarship completed an essay on this topic: Dis cuss a business leader you admire and explain how their leadership style inspires your own vision of success and career aspirations. The scholarships were awarded based on the quality of the student’s essay and the strength of the student’s application, including contributions to both school and community, as well as letters of recommendation from teachers and others. This fall, Karrington will be attending Ohio State and Omar will be at Cornell University. Both received their awards at a special Scholarship Breakfast hosted by BankOnBuffalo at its head quarters. Interestingly, Kar rington’s older brother Xavier Mann was a past recipient of a BankOnBuffalo scholarship.
