The Offense of The Buffalo Bills found its groove vs the Chiefs last week and looks to continue against division rival Miami this week. The key factor, Joe Brady, called a good game that featured James Cook, a winning formula for this version of the hometown team. I would still like to see James Cook involved in the passing game which I believe will open opportunities for other receivers.
The defense was stellar against Patrick Mahomes and company, forcing him to have one of his worst days as a pro. Despite Coach McDermott claiming he and Defensive Coordinator Bobby Babich are sharing duties on the play calling, I believe, based on the changes I have seen, that Coach McDermott has taken over the play calling that Babich is giving him the reads from the booth.
After the game Coach McDermott stated that his duties had not increased, but the switch was made after the bye week because of the defensive short falls before then. I believe this has to do with what appears to be a notable change in not only the play, but how these players are executing the play calls. Also, Coach McDermott is just sparing Babich from public scrutiny behind his decision to take over the play calls.
The Chiefs were never able to find an offensive groove vs the Bills, and a lot of that was due to injuries on their offensive line which could not be overcome. The one thing people overlook in the game of football is sometimes the healthiest team wins the game, and that is not always the best.
This can all change if the Bills go down to South Florida and do not execute their game plan against the Dolphins. Coach McDermott is now Tied with Bill Walsh with ninety-two wins during the regular season.
