Still Standing: The Bills’ Path Is Open, If Their Health Holds

The Buffalo Bills have once again entered the playoff tournament with the goal of playing one more game. Their next opponent is the upstart Denver Broncos, who boast one of the more balanced teams in the league, but like all teams this year could be beaten with the right game plan. The Bills went into Jacksonville and gave them selves a chance to win the game. That is all you want to accomplish in any game and the home town team accomplished that goal.

The Bills this year have some glaring deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball, but this could be a good opportunity for them to reach the Super Bowl again. There is no dominant team in the league this year and the prospects in front of you present an opportunity to accomplish the one thing that Coach McDermott has not done during his tenure. One of the largest obstacles in the way of the Bills has been health.

This entire season has seen more than the usual number of players on the injury report or put on the permanent injured list. Many times, in the NFL the best team is the healthiest, and not necessarily the best. This year might be the true test of this theory of NFL success, that the last team standing is not the best but could be the healthiest.

Quarterback Josh Allen has played some great football this year, but I fear the culmination hits on his body will take its toll in the immediate future.
