A Special Honor from Mayor Ryan

This Columnist received a surprise phone call on Monday morning, informing me that the newly elected Mayor of Buffalo, Sean Ryan, has selected me to receive his first annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Citizen of the year award. This will be his first annual award from his new administration. The award will be presented at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the office of Mayor Ryan at Buffalo City Hall.

The event is free and open to the public. I am honored to receive such a special Honor especially on the weekend when we pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. one of our greatest civil rights leaders. Thanks to Kerry Saunders, radio talk host and community leader for giving me this important news.

I would like to encourage everyone to keep up with the weather reports. This is still January and we still have a lot of winter ahead of us. If God allows, we will share in this special event.
