Kim Baker

My name is Kim Baker. I was born in 1961 in Buffalo, New York, and blessed with love, faith, and strength. I am now a resident of New York City and 63 years of age. My art is my work and legacy, and how I convey some of the wonders of my journey.

I’ve lived on Buffalo’s east side—Box and Kehr—and attended P.S. 62. I left Buffalo for New York City in 1974. New York has been my home ever since, and I have lived in most of the Boroughs—Manhattan, Queens, now The Bronx. I want to share my art now, because it is my legacy. I am not formally trained, but I have the desire to do something meaningful.

My art has left me with an overwhelming sense of gratification—bringing peace and smiles to those who view my art. When I complete a painting I look deeply into my work, and that is how I know it is ready for the world to see. This process brings me pride and purpose—working through my past. I share my art and journey with my hometown, Buffalo, New York.
