A Better YOU Lifestyle, Inc. and WNY Aging in Place Council Receive the Caregivers Grant

NIAGARA FALLS, NY — A Better YOU Lifestyle, Inc. and the WNY Aging in Place Council are proud to announce they have received the Caregivers Grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation through the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo to support a series of “Aging in Place” awareness workshops and a regional “Aging in Place” Summit scheduled for Fall 2026.

The grant will allow both organizations to provide educational programming, resources, and community aware ness initiatives focused on helping older adults, seniors, veterans, caregivers, and family members safely remain in their homes as they age.

The mini “Aging in Place” awareness workshops are designed to help prolong independent living, improve home safety, increase comfort and security, and reduce the financial burdens often associated with premature placement into nursing homes or rehabilitation facilities.

The “Aging in Place” Awareness workshops and summit keynote presentation, “Making Your House, Your Home: Preparing for Aging in Place,” will be led by Willie A. Price of Willie A. Price Speaks, LLC along with several local organizations and community resources.

Mr. Price is recog nized as the only C.A.P.S. (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) and Universal Design Essentials Rehabilitation Specialist in the country, bringing a unique combination of expertise in aging, accessibility, rehabilitation, and home safety education.

“Our goal is to bring greater awareness, education, and practical solutions to families throughout Western New York and beyond,” said Price. “Too many older adults and veterans are unprepared for the physical, financial, and emotional challenges that come with aging in place. These workshops are about helping people prepare early, remain independent longer, and improve quality of life.”

The first “Aging in Place” Awareness Workshop will kick off on June 5, 2026, during the NYS Prince Hall Grand Lodge Community Workshop Series in Rochester. A second mini workshop will follow on June 18, 2026, at the Delavan Grider Community Center in Buffalo. Additional workshops and summit details will be announced throughout the year.
