Buffalo Fire Responds to building fire at 1269 Genesee Street

Buffalo Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire early this morning at 1269 Genesee Street, a one-story commercial furniture store. The fire, which began in the rear of the building, was contained to that area.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the building and $50,000 in damage to its contents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The alarm came in at approximately 2:35 a.m. Five firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries while battling the blaze.
