Executive Summary: B.U.I.L.D. of Buffalo Survey
The B.U.I.L.D. of Buffalo Survey on Revitalization/ Infrastructure on Jefferson Avenue, Economic Development, Cultural Preservation and events, Communication and Events, Communication and engagement, and New Initiatives for Jefferson Avenue all between Best & Main Streets.
This Survey is an important part of B.U.I.L.D. of Buffalo continuing efforts to set data as the foundation of our inclusion. Further, this survey was administered from July 19, 2025 through August 17, 2025. Respondents included attendees of the B.U.I.L.D. of Buffalo Community Town Hall Meeting, residents living on Jefferson Avenue and Jefferson Avenue Business Owners. A total of 100 people completed the survey.
The survey is designed to take an introductory pulse on:
Revitalization/Infrastructure on Jefferson Avenue,
Economic Development
Cultural preservation and events,
Communication and engagement, and
New Initiatives for Jefferson Avenue.
The survey results are intended to promote further data collection and other activities tailored to the Jefferson Avenue community.
A few of the survey’s findings include:
Large majorities of respondents stated they were not satisfied with the revitalization/ Infrastructure on Jefferson Avenue.
Over 70% of respondents somewhat agree that revitalization/Infrastructure plan would impact the local economy and businesses on Jefferson.
Over 80% of respondents stated that communication and engagement about revitalizations/infrastructure from the City is not effective.
Nearly 100% of respondents agree and support “A Wholesale African, Caribbean & West Indies Market” and “A Resource Center for ALL Black Cultural Events.
