Jesse Clipper Post No. 430 Annual Cookout

On Friday, August 21, 2025, the American Jesse Clipper Post No. 430 celebrated its fourth annual cookout at the Lancaster Place Building in Como Park. Post Commander Cheryl Coleman Thomas reported that the event was a great success.

Legionnaire Perry Civils, along with his wife Arnita, Master Chef Bill Barber, and Homeland Security Officer Elder Garey Burt Sr., did an excellent job organizing the cookout. Everyone enjoyed a delicious menu that included hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, chicken, fish, baked beans, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, various side dishes, and dessert.

The attendance was remarkable and included Charlie Henderson, a life member of the Post currently residing in Montgomery, Alabama. Our Finance Officer, Agnes Young, has recently relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, and she announced that she will be getting married on September 25th. The atmosphere was filled with friendship and fellowship.
