Funeral Held for Mr. Edward Herdon

A memorial service was held April 25 at St. Phillips Episcopal, located at 18 Sussex, where Reverend Stephan Lane is Pastor and Officiant. Mr. Edward Herndon was born November 10, 1930, and passed on April 19, 2026, Mr. Herndon was born in Kings Mountain North Carolina and later moved to Lackawanna N.Y. After high school he joined the Airforce. Edward Herndon married Jean Ruth Watts in 1956, and they remained married for 58 years, until she passed away in 2014. They had 3 children. Mr. Herndon was active in the community, political, and civil arenas. He worked for the City of Buffalo as an assessor. The current Mayor, Sean Ryan, and former Mayors, Anthony Masiello and Byron Brown gave remarks at his service. Edward Herndon was a long-time friend to the Merriweather Family and supporter of the Buffalo Criterion Newspaper. Our prayers go out to the Herndon Family.
