Melanie March, first-year law student at the University at Buffalo School of Law and Graduate Assistant for Residential Education—Living Learning Communities at UB.

Melanie March is a first-year law student at the University at Buffalo School of Law and works as a Live-In Graduate Assistant for Residential Education—Living Learning Communities at the university. A native of Buffalo, March earned both her B.A. in English with distinction in 2022 and her M.A. in English, summa cum laude, in 2025, from UB.

Before taking on her current role, March was an Assistant Vice President at Citigroup’s Federated Chief Data Governance Office, where she focused on enterprise data governance and regulatory compliance initiatives. She has also supported undergraduate student success as an EOP Summer Bridge Counselor and a mentor for first-generation college students.

Her professional interests include law, public policy, financial compliance, and social justice. In honor of Black History Month, she emphasizes that Black history is a vital part of the American story.
