BROMEOs PRESENTS THEIR 2025 OUTSTANDING CITIZENS AWARDS

On November 11, 2025 (Veterans Day), the BROMEOs (Buffalo Retired Old Men Eating Out) presented their 2025 Outstanding Citizens Awards to five distinguished veterans:

- Luther Burnett, Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired), Bennett-Wells American Legion No. Post 1780.

- Henry Curtis III, Command Sergeant Major, U.S. Army (Retired), Jesse Clipper American Legion Post No. 430.

- Reverend Eugene L. Pierce, Sergeant First Class, U.S. Army, Jesse Clipper American Legion Post No. 430.

- Richard Clark, Sergeant, U.S. Marine Corps, VFW, Lockport, NY, Marine Corps League, Lockport, NY, Niagara County Veterans Court.

- Monica Lynch, Corporal, U.S. Marine Corps, Johnetta R. Cole AMVETS Post No. 24

The ceremony took place in the Community Room of the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, the largest park of its kind in the United States. The room was filled with veterans and their supporters.

The Colors were presented by the Jesse Clipper American Legion Post 430 Color Guard Unit. Commander Debborah Ransom, Johnetta R. Cole AMVETS Post No. 24, led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Darryl A. Gaines Sr. served as the Master of Ceremonies. He introduced Richard C. Cummings, Chairman of the BROMEOs, who gave the welcome. Remarks were given by Major Felton Davis, U.S. Army (Retired); Schuyler Banks, President of African American Veterans Monument, Inc.; NYS Senator April Baskin; and NYS Assembly Majority Leader Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes.

 Senator April Baskin and Majority Leader Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes presented the awards to the honorees.
