Buffalo Bills Training Camp Preview

By Pat Freeman, The Mighty O’Ba

The Buffalo Bills are set to begin their ninth training camp under the leadership of Head Coach Sean McDermott and General Manager Bran don Beane. The funny thing about professional sports is that now the winning coach is on the hot seat. I saw a list that had Coach McDermott on the hot seat in the league. Truly, I do not agree with every decision the head coach has made since his arrival, but it baffles my mind that we see coaches in all sports firing coach es after they have had not only winning seasons, but some have won championships.

The New York Knicks recently fired Tom Thibodeau after leading the franchise to the NBA east finals, something the Knicks have not done in 25 years. The Knicks, after an extensive search, hired Mike Brown as his replacement and the point I am making is that I do not understand making at best a lateral move or regression. This list that contains the name of Sean McDermott truly does not understand that they were known for not paying players their value and hiring unqualified people to lead a stagnant organization.

Coach McDermott not only has won on the field, but he is where the buck stops for the entire foot ball operation. You fire him and this organization will start completely over. Pro Football is an exceedingly difficult sport, and people are calling for a coaching change of a man that has a 93-52 record which includes 7-7 in the playoffs. He has a winning percentage of .656.

He only trails hall of fame coach Marv levy in franchise history. The only achievement left for Coach McDermott is to lead this franchise back to the Super Bowl and, last I checked, there thirty-one other franchises vying for only two spots per season. We have the best coach you could find to lead an organization in a small market here in Western New York. So, I am not one that will entertain removing McDermott if he does not reach the Super Bowl.
