The Buffalo Bills lead the League in rushing, averaging a little under 164 yards per game. James Cook leads the rushing attack but when you look at what makes the running game work you must mention the front five. This unit has been the core of the offensive attack going on for three years.

Starting at the center position, Connor McGovern has been stellar since moving over from the guard position, replacing Mitch Morse. The guards David Edwards and O’Cyrus Torrence have been dominant so far this year. The right tackle Spencer Brown has really improved his play over the last couple of seasons earning him an extension.

The anchor of this elite unit is the veteran left tackle Dion Dawkins who has played at an all-pro level the last few years. Dawkins in my eyesight has become one of the best tackles in the entire NFL. He truly has some of the best techniques of any offensive lineman in the league. Each week he goes up against the opponents best pass rushers and usually frustrates them for each game. The goal of an offensive line is to be able to run the football but also keep the quarterback upright.

Offensive line coach Aaron Kromer could be the best offensive line coach in this league currently because of the steady play of this unit here in Western New York. Everything starts in the trenches and the Buffalo Bills this season have been winning these battles on offense.
