NYWFP STATEMENT ON NYC CFB DENYING CUOMO OVER HALF A MILLION DOLLARS IN MATCHING FUNDS
NEW YORK CITY — In response to the NYC Campaign Finance Board denying Andrew Cuomo over half a million dollars in matching funds, New York Working Families Party Co-Directors, Jasmine Gripper and Ana María Archila released the following statement:
“Andrew Cuomo’s campaign is giving all of us a glimpse into his inability to run the city. He can’t even get the basics right. First, Cuomo couldn’t complete basic paperwork to qualify for matching funds — and now it’s clear he can’t campaign without breaking the law, illegally coordinating with his billionaire-backed super PAC just to stay afloat.
“Even as New Yorkers face an onslaught of attacks from the Trump regime, Cuomo is hiding from the press and voters. He refuses to answer questions about his support from Trump’s billionaire donors and the more than a decade he spent defunding and punishing NYC’s schools, trains, and hospitals for his own political gain.
“New York City needs a leader who can run the city well, and on behalf of everyday people, not billionaires. Cuomo is not that leader. New Yorkers: Rank The Slate, don’t rank Cuomo.”
