Veterans Visit Bilingual Center School 33

The Eight Grade Home Language Arts Program at the Bilingual Center School 33, located at 157 Elk Street will be conducting interviews with the members of the Johnetta R. Cole Am Vets Post 24 on Wednesday September 30, 2026, from 9am – 10.30 am.

The interviews with the post members are designed to give the students a deeper understanding of the U.S. Military. During the interviews, students will gain wisdom, knowledge, hear stories, see various photographs, uniforms worn at peace and war times, plus see the medals that post member have earned while in the service. From these interviews the students will receive a greater sense of appreciation for the American veteran.

Then on Tuesday November 10, 2026, from 11am – 1:15 pm, the students and staff of the Bilingual Center School 33 located at 157 Elk Street will have an appreciation luncheon honoring the post members for the interviews that were done on Wednesday September 30, 2026.

The students will share their research from the interviews about each branch of the military, and the knowledge they have gained from the post members noting the sacrifices, commitment, and impacts made by these veterans.
